Hello, I’m Skipper Stringfield, President of My Service Depot, the makers of Smart Service™. My passion is building software for the service industry and creating the infrastructure to support our clients in a manner that no other company comes close to doing. Allow me to take you on a brief tour of my philosophy on running My Service Depot and show you some pictures of our facility. I started writing software for the service industry nearly 15 years ago. Much has changed in the years that passed, but one underlying philosophy has stood the test of time; “Provide intuitive software and back it up with outstanding service and support”. Everything we do on a daily basis supports our philosophy. Let me show you how.
Let’s start with the sales experience
I only employ sales representatives that have owned prior service businesses. From our first interaction with a prospective client, we “walk the walk and talk the talk”. Our sales team members have built prior service businesses in the HVAC, plumbing, chimney cleaning and handyman industries. Unless you have ran a successful service business, you just won’t understand the complexity that comes with it.

Now on to training
Wow, we are the king of training and implementation. In late 2006 we began a project that invested over $70,000 in infrastructure for our new broadcast studio. With the advent of the internet, web based e-Learning has exploded. No longer do folks have to travel to get trained. Now it can be done from the comfort of your own desk via the internet. Our broadcast studio trains hundreds of people per month and we use Wheatstone broadcast products. Heres the kicker... we train ONLY one company at a time and we train you on your actual data. We don’t use dummy training databases, we use YOUR real customers! By doing this, you’ll learn much faster because you already know your customers and business processes.
Software development and testing
One of the keys to our success is having the right developers for the job. Our seasoned developers have started at the ground floor and their knowledge of the service industry has been built over the years. Our developers know first hand how Smart Service will impact your business. When we write software it under goes extensive internal testing first. Next it’s released to a pilot BETA test group and then finally released to the general client base. The picture to the left is our internal testing lab.
More training resources
Yes, we still do training the old fashioned way as well. We have a 12 station in house training facility pictured at the right in which your company can come to our facility for hands on training. We even have 20 laptops in flight cases that we can put on a commercial jet and fly anywhere in the US and Canada for on-site training at your location. My Service Depot has a wealth of resources to make training and implementation a smooth process.
Finally... The Help Desk
At some point in time, you’ll need the help desk and that’s where we really shine! From the moment you call in or send an e-mail the tracking starts. In order to provide exceptional client care all phone calls are recorded and used for training purposes to make your next experience even better. We have built a custom software application that tracks every time we interact with a client. Our help desk agents have at their fingertips a problem resolution database. Here are just a few of the key metrics I stay on top of daily. The data at the right is for 2007 and is accurate through July 16th.
